Brewing Software I have Used

The first software I used was called Brewer’s Workshop. It was version 4.0 created by TKO Software. It is basic but it will do both extracts as well as full-grain recipes. I really liked it but I know there are more parameters I should be watching and controlling. So because of that I moved to ProMash.

I find ProMash to be not as user friendly when it comes to capturing readings and information during a brewing session. This maybe because I like to have my computer open while I am brewing so I can enter data and findings as I go. Also, some readings (using a hydrometer) are based on a certain temperature. ProMash does not seem to account for the temperature the reading was taken at. Hopefully somebody will read this and tell me where I am going wrong.

  1. ProMash has a built in “Hydrometer Correction Calculator” that will account for temperature differences.

  2. Found it! Thanks! It seems a little out of the way. I would have expected to find it on the session pages of Mash Schedule and Fermentation.
